 Fall ab, Herz
Fall ab, Herz vom Baum der Zeit,
fallt, ihr Blätter, aus den erkalteten Ästen,
die einst die Sonne umarmt‘,
fallt, wie Tränen fallen aus dem geweiteten Aug!

Fliegt noch die Locke taglang im Wind
um des Landgotts gebräunte Stirn,
unter dem Hemd preßt die Faust
schon die klaffende Wunde.

Drum sei hart, wenn der zarte Rücken der Wolken
sich dir einmal noch beugt,
nimm es für nichts, wenn der Hymettos die Waben
noch einmal dir füllt.

Denn wenig gilt dem Landmann ein Halm in der Dürre,
wenig ein Sommer vor unserem großen Geschlecht.

Und was bezeugt schon dein Herz?
Zwischen gestern und morgen schwingt es,
lautlos und fremd,
und was es schlägt,
ist schon sein Fall aus der Zeit.



Desprende-te, coraçao

Desprende-te, coração, da árvore do tempo,
soltai-vos, folhas, dos ramos esfriados,
outrora abraçados pelo sol,
soltai-vos como lágrimas de olhos largos de longes.

Esvoaça ainda a madeixa dias inteiros ao vento
na fronte tisnada do deus do campo,
sob a camisa aperta o punho
já a ferida aberta.

Por isso resiste, quando o dorso macio das núvens
voltar a curvar-se para ti,
não te iludas se o Himeto te encher
de novo os favos.

De pouco vale ao lavrador uma erva na seca,
de pouco um verão, face à nossa grande estirpe.

E que testemunha afinal o teu coração?
Entre ontem e amanhã balança,
silencioso e estranho,
e o seu bater
é já a sua queda para fora do tempo.

Dunkles zu sagen

Wie Orpheus spiel ich
auf den Saiten des Lebens den Tod
und in die Schönheit der Erde
und deiner Augen, die den Himmel verwalten,
weiß ich nur Dunkles zu sagen.

Vergiß nicht, daß auch du, plötzlich,
an jenem Morgen, als dein Lager
noch naß war von Tau und die Nelke
an deinem Herzen schlief,
den dunklen Fluß sahst,
der an dir vorbeizog.

Die Saite des Schweigens
gespannt auf die Welle von Blut,
griff ich dein tönendes Herz.
Verwandelt ward deine Locke
ins Schattenhaar der Nacht,

e dos teus olhos que regem o céu

Não te esqueças que também tu, subitamente,
naquela manhã, quando o teu leito
estava ainda húmido de orvalho e o cravo
dormia no teu coração,
viste o rio negro
passar por ti.

Com a corda do silêncio
tensa sobre a onda de sangue,
dedilhei o teu coração vibrante.
A tua madeixa transformou-se
na cabeleira de sombras da noite,
os flocos negros da escuridão
nevavam sobre o teu rosto.

E eu não te pertenço.
Ambos nos lamentamos agora.

Mas, como Orfeu, sei
a vida ao lado da morte,
e revejo-me no azul
dos teus olhos fechados para sempre.

Ich forschte bleichen eifers…

Ich forschte bleichen eifers nach dem horte
Nach strofen drinnen tiefste kümmerniss
Und dinge rollten dumpf und ungewiss -
Da trat ein nackter engel durch die pforte:

Entgegen trug er dem versenkten sinn
Der reichsten blumen last und nicht geringer
Als mandelblüten waren seine finger
Und rosen rosen waren um sein kinn.

Auf seinem haupte keine krone ragte
Und seine stimme fast der meinen glich:
Das schöne leben sendet mich an dich
Als boten: während er dies lächelnd sagte

Entfielen ihm die lilien und mimosen -
Und als ich sie zu heben mich gebückt
Da kniet auch ER • ich badete beglückt
Mein ganzes antlitz in den frischen rosen.

Estrofas plenas de hondísima aflicción
Y el giro de las cosas era incierto y sordo -
Cuando un ángel desnudo atravesó el portón:

Al sentido soterrado traía un don:
De flores la carga más copiosa y no menores
eran sus dedos que de almendro las flores
Y rosas rosas ceñíanle el mentón.

Corona alguna no ostentaba su cabeza
Y casi igual a la mía era su voz:
Me envía a ti una vida de belleza
Como nuncio: al decirlo se sonrió

Y caíansele en tanto lirios y mimosas -
Cuando a alzarlos me inclinara hacia adelante
También ÉL se arrodilló • bañé radiante
Mi rostro todo así en las frescas rosas.

Stefan Anton George (* 12. Juli 1868 in Büdesheim, heute Stadtteil von Bingen am Rhein; † 4. Dezember 1933 in Minusio bei Locarno) war ein deutscher Lyriker. Zunächst vor allem dem Symbolismus verpflichtet, wandte er sich nach der Jahrhundertwende vom reinen Ästhetizismus der zuvor in den Blättern für die Kunst propagierten „kunst für die kunst“ ab und wurde zum Mittelpunkt des nach ihm benannten, auf eigenen ästhetischen, philosophischen und lebensreformerischen Vorstellungen beruhenden George-Kreises.
