Polish Poem (re-imagined) by Dutch Rall
David Lynch is the executive producer of Chrysta Bell’s first solo release, “Strange Darling”, a collection of her favorite covers from the obscure to the ultra famous. She gives the songs her trademark sensuality and the music reflects a healthy dose of her penchant for things strange and beautiful.
The record features the phenomenal musicianship from the likes of Jerome Dillon on drums(NIN), Pat Mastelotto on percussion(King Crimson), Reggie Hamilton on bass (Christina Aguilera, Seal), Dave Palmer on keys (Fiona Apple, AIR), Cameron Morgan on guitar and Marcus Graf on trumpet.
The album is complete and a release date will be announced shortly.
Chrysta Bell met David Lynch 10 years ago through the famed CAA agent Brian Loucks who had once represented David. CB and David began creating music in David’s home studio the first day they met. They became dear friends and artsitic collaborators.
The fruit of one musical collaboration can be heard in Lynch’s latest film release, INLAND EMPIRE. The song featured in the film, Polish Poem, is haunting and atmospheric, and indicative of the style the two entities create in other musical works. Chrysta Bell performed for the official after-party of the film’s release in Austin, Texas, with David in attendance, as well as sharing the stage with David as she vocalized a capella at his request in the minutes before the film began, to a packed house at the Paramount Theatre.
CB is featured with David in an educational video for Digidesign and was a featured performer at the David Lynch Weekend in Fairfield, Iowa, along with Donovan and Moby. Chrysta Bell’s debut solo album will be released on David’s record label, David Lynch M C..
