Craters near the summit of Mount Etna streamed ash and volcanic gases shortly before the volcano’s eleventh paroxysm of 2013.
Recent lava flows, colored brown, snake down the eastern mountainside
from the New Southeast Crater. This natural-color image was collected on
April 18, 2013 by the Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on the Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) satellite.
