Cars: Clarke Gable Duesenberg JN Roadster

The Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance at Rochester, Michigan, August 3, 2008.
This custom bodied Duesenberg was a gift to actor Clark Gable from his beloved wife, actress Carole Lombard. Gable commissioned Bohman and Schwartz to design and fit this unique roadster body to a Duesengerg J chassis, and worked closely with the designer to create a truly unique look. Gable left the car in Canada when his wife died in 1942, with instructions that it never be seen in California while he was still alive.
This unique Duesenberg won the American car Best of Show as well as the Meadow Brook Hall Memorial Award.
